Flo was broken in as a three year old at Little Garendon in 2007, she then had the winter off to mature. This is her competing in a young event horse class in July 2008
One of the most important things when breaking in or bringing on a young or inexperieced horse is giving each individual the time and attention it needs, as Little Garendon is only a small yard it means that we are never in a position where we need to hurry a horses education. Margaret has been breaking horses in for over 40 years and Rachael has been assisting her ever since she has been old enough to be of any help, nowadays it is Rachael who does the backing with Margaret holding the horse and Cherise giving the leg ups, it is definitley a team game where we all need to trust each other as one slip up can lose a horses trust. If you would like us to start your horses education or have any queries please don't hesitate to give Rachael a call or send her an e mail.
