THOMAS We got Thomas about eleven years ago, he was advertised in the Horse and Hound for sale or loan and we were looking for a new horse to use in the riding school we wanted something safe and reliable, and Thomas was neither of those when we went to see him, he was stabled in London and he had been allowed to get away with being naughty and nappy when being ridden, but we decided even though he did have those bad habits there was something about him that we liked so we agreed with the owners to have him on loan. Thomas was very naughty when he first came spending most of his time on his hind legs whenever he was asked to do anything he didn't fancy doing! but he soon learnt that he wasn't going to be allowed to get away with it. He has never enjoyed competing on his own but he is the most fantastic hunter and team chaser and both Cherise and Margaret have had some brilliant times doing both of these things. He is 20yrs old now so takes life slightly easier, unfortunately he damaged his tendons a couple of years ago out hunting so much to his displeasure he only goes out a few times in the season just for short days, if you left the decision up to him he would go all day! He also still does a few pairs hunter trials and fun rides as long he is not in front or on his own he is still as brave as he ever has been.
